Dorm Room

So it's been ... I guess ... 4 months since my last update. Since that update, I beat Pokemon Black, and have been slowly collecting genders and forms there. However, despite what I said last blog about ensuring I have all forms, at the encouragement of my roommate and in preparation for Legends: Z-A, I have put Gen 5 on hold to play Gen 6. I'm happy to report that I'm at the Elite 4 in Pokemon Y and have been collecting forms for its Dex.
Okay, but it's been four months. What else have I been doing in the world of Pokemon? Well, I've been working on completing the DLCs of Pokemon Violet so I can finish that Pokedex, all the while working on completing the collection in Pokemon HOME of Gen 9 Pokemon for a Shiny Meloetta. I'm glad to say that with the exception of a few Pokemon, I'm right there!
After completing Black, I spent some time in White to collect the exclusives there, and as per my rules, have brought some more powerful Pokemon to help me through the game. However, I want to talk about Deoxys for a moment.
To some, this may seem obvious, but Deoxys is a Generation 3 Pokemon, originating in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. As such, even though Deoxys is available in FireRed and LeafGreen, any Deoxys caught there will be listed as coming from Kanto. This simply will not do. Deoxys is from Hoenn. Therefore, I will need to beat Emerald (via resets) an additional THREE times. Ugh.
Lastly, let's talk Megas. Mega Evolutions were added in Generation 6, compatible through Generation 7, and are thankfully finally returning with Legends Z-A. I realize, though, that my Origin Living Dex will be incomplete if I don't also have a complete set of Megas, and considering Mega Pokemon forms originated in Gen 6 Kalos as well as Gen 6 Hoenn, I will collect Pokemon which say they come from those regions as my list of Megas.
