I have very nearly completed the playthrough of Pokemon X. Nearly enough to get Xerneas, anyway. I have every Pokemon save for Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion as well as a couple forms such as Gourgeist. The hunt for Vivillon is going to be rough as I need to do some significant hacks to set a spare 3DS to the firmware of other regions.
I recently took a trip to Japan. Prior to departure, I decided to bring my DSi XL along with Black & White. Using my Black save as a base for a couple Pokemon, White moved quite quickly, and through the span of the 3-week long trip, it became the one where I found Kyurem first, had the higher level box legendary, and the one I grinded Audino more in to level up my spare Pokemon. Caught the version exclusives, and found Cobalion and Terrakion. I replicated some of these feats in Pokemon Black and both are well-positioned to finish the generation - as is my goal. Considering both have now beaten the game, I embarked upon Pokemon White 2, utilizing the memory system. I had not realized that Zorua was dependent on a Gen 4 Celebi within B/W, and the first you can get in B2/W2 is N's Zorua (aka his OT). So in order to keep to my transfer rules, I can get N's Zorua, breed it twice, and then evolve one to get Zoroark.
Another large hunt remains here, and that is Alcremie. I have spent a couple hours maybe resetting daily battles for Sweet items, but realized that the two special sweets (Ribbon & Star) are TECHNICALLY obtainable in the DLC. In particular, there's a hiker in Isle of Armor that can offer those sweets as a highlight item of the day. I don't know the count but I'm maybe halfway there. In making this blog post, I've learned that these sweets are also available in the Cram-O-Matic and is PERHAPS easier. I'll need to evaluate.
Thanks to the above achievement in starting Pokemon White 2, that marks the second to last mainline game that I have yet to play, assuming we're counting Ultra Sun/Moon as separate from Sun/Moon. The amount of story I need to work through to get Pokemon is coming to a close.
